Zhanguo Warring States Red Agate, 45x4mm. #3648

Zhanguo Warring States Red Agate, most often is found in colors of vibrant reds, old world orange, electric yellows  and sometimes pure white or metallic black. 

In this particular piece, almost all of those colors are represented. 

This piece is hand cut and hand polished with a natural edge and a free-form, circular shape. The drilled hole is in the top, canter and will hang in a centered and balanced, vertical "medallion" appearance on any piece. 

Polished to a high shine, and smooth to the touch, this particular stone holds few of the natural pitted characteristics of layered, differing minerals, yet the layers still shine in the shifting light, almost like painted lines on a glass surface. Unique to most warring States agate specimens, this stone also has a transparent "window" where light shines through the stone in shifting light.
